Orest focuses on criminal cases with international elements, anti-bribery compliance work, and internal investigations. He represents major Ukrainian and international companies across a wide range of industries on white-collar crime issues, compliance matters, internal investigations, and government investigations. He is regularly engaged to help international companies navigate complex compliance matters at the junction of local and foreign laws, and assist with internal investigations driven by foreign law requirements (predominantly related to FCPA and UKBA). 

Representative Work:

• Advised a Fortune 500 global pharmaceutical company at all stages of an in-depth internal FCPA probe for several CIS jurisdictions (involving leading the review process for millions of documents). The case resulted in one of the largest settlements with DOJ and SEC in the region.
• Represented a Fortune 500 leading global player in the internal investigation and further audit of internal compliance controls, over alleged misconduct in relationships with the major subcontractor in the course of a project financed by the World Bank.
• Advised a Fortune 500 global technology company in an internal investigation of its Ukrainian subsidiary, regarding allegations of corruption and misconduct, which was handled in parallel with an ongoing active probe of local investigative authorities. Worked on adjustment and improvement of the compliance program upon results of the investigation.
• Advise multiple clients on assessments of various aspects of sanctions related to the war in Ukraine (in context of assessment of counterparties, complying with regulations prohibiting transactions due to sanctions, etc).
